All Australian Car Show – Pinjarra

by
“The All Aussie Day Show 2012 was held in Pinjarra this year, which is the first time it’s moved from the usual place of Waroona. I’d say being closer was a good thing seeing as there were heaps more people around (so it seemed).
This years major promo was the R & S series Valiants 50th celebration and the P76 owners 30th, so of course their attendance was well covered with lots of Vals and P76’s in the show.

Seeing it was the first time at the Trotting track (Paceway) in Pinjarra there are always going to be teething problems with a new venue. From the Stall Holder’s view it was much better as it’s all on grass (green grass even!) and located central to the clubhouse, etc.

From a car owners view, not so good. getting in was a bit of a hairpin turn (not so good when your car is almost the width of the gates!), and then along the dusty track to the dusty pace track meant lots of people got out the rags and wipes to clean all the dust off their cars. Worse was if you got there early and then had cars passing you all day to park further afield and kicking up dust again, which meant more dust, and if they left earlier than you, it happened again. Not good if you spent all day previous cleaning it just to spend half your your time dusting during the show (not having good paint is a blessing sometimes).

Apart from the dust issues, the show seemed to go off real well. many people brought shade tents to sit and talk to fellow members or the public, or wandered around the oval looking at various stalls and watching the Army Band playing some great renditions of popular songs. Beardy’s Bouncy Castles had heaps of rides for the kids, there were also a few food stalls, and sweet shops to indulge your sweet tooth while you looked at the Vintage machinery nearby. To ad to all of this there was a gourmet food section in the clubhouse.

So, from hearing people talk about the show that day and later in the week, I’d say it was a great show, even with the dust problems, and looks like next year will be even better! (maybe they can promote dodges!!!)
oo-roo till next time πŸ˜‰ Dodgee.”
