And as I wandered into the main hall I was blinded by all the chrome from all the years that made motorbikes what they are today. There were some rippers from the 50’s and 40’s in all their glory, plus a few war era bikes with phones and sidecars and guns and….wow!
A few projects in the making, but quite a few finished examples from lots of different companies and eras. There was a ripper from Vincent, the ‘Rapide’. 1949 and immaculate! can’t remember many bikes from that era with a 150mph speedo!! Talk about your ‘black widow’!!!
Outside behind the hall the swap meet was going pretty good,. Lots of vendors, some shops, but mainly private sellers. heaps of gear for all sorts of bikes, inc whole bikes to restore (if only I had some cash eh 😉 even the models section from ‘Bikegifts.com.au’ reported a brisk trade in a few of the models they had! the details was pretty dam good for handmade models!!! would love one on my shelf! as it was an early start to the swap meet, by 10am they were packing up. but a few where staying around for those of us who don’t like getting up early (raises hand) so if you were quick you could grab yourself a bargain or that bike to start your resto on.
I will definatly be going next year!”
